Take this funny story of a husband and wife who had six kids together. One day, the husband, instead of calling his wife by her name, jokingly started calling her “Mother of Six.” At first, it was sweet and silly. The wife laughed and rolled her eyes, thinking it was just a phase.

This story reminds us that humor is great in a relationship, but balance is important too. Fun nicknames are okay, but sometimes just saying “honey,” “love,” or your partner’s name means so much more. It’s a way of saying, “I see you, I remember you, and I love who you are — not just what you do.”
