Welcome to the humorous side — where love is real, and so is the drama over socks, thermostats, and forgotten anniversaries.

Without wasting anytime

Let’s get to the topic

My husband forgets our anniversary. Every. Single. Year.

We’ve been married for 8 years now. That means 8 chances to remember. And somehow, every year, it slips his mind like the laundry he “meant to fold.

At first, I let it go. “He’s busy.” “He means well.” “He probably remembered in his heart.” (Whatever that means.)

But this year? Oh no. I had a plan.

  •  Operation Unforgettable

I decided to give him an anniversary experience he’d never forget… mostly because it involved public embarrassment.

Step 1: A Mariachi Band
At 7:00 AM sharp, a full-blown mariachi group showed up at our doorstep — complete with sombreros, trumpets, and the loudest rendition of “Bésame Mucho” you’ve ever heard. He opened the door in boxers and socks. Confused. Disoriented. Glorious.

Step 2: Glitter Explosion Cake
I ordered a cake that looked sweet and innocent… until you cut into it. Cue a glitter bomb. He now sparkled for two straight days. Even his armpits shimmered.

Step 3: Anniversary Shirt
I made him wear a shirt to work that said, “I forgot our anniversary again — please send help (and flowers).”

  •  His Reaction?

Shock. Laughter. A bit of glitter in his coffee.
And finally, a very heartfelt apology, followed by a panic bouquet of gas station roses and dinner reservations (at the right place, this time).

Moral of the Story?

He’ll never forget our anniversary again. Not because he suddenly became romantic, but because he now lives in fear of what I might do next year.

Ending Note:

Love isn’t always candlelit dinners and handwritten poems. Sometimes, it’s mariachi bands and glitter explosions. And honestly? That’s way more fun.
